Job Description

Overview

The Cloud Support Engineer 2 provides premium customer support for OCI’s large enterprise customers in Japan, delivering white-glove service through 24/7 shift rotations including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role requires fluent Japanese communication with customers and English collaboration with internal service, development, and operations teams. Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 technical support for OCI services to premium enterprise customers via phone, email, and chat.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, including compute, storage, networking, and database services.
  • Communicate effectively in Japanese with customers and in English with global internal teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis and escalate issues to development and operations teams as needed.
  • Document support cases, solutions, and knowledge base articles for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor customer environments proactively to prevent issues and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate on customer success initiatives, including onboarding and best practices guidance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to post-incident reviews for service reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud support, IT operations, or technical support roles.
  • Fluency in Japanese (business level) and English (conversational proficiency).
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or comparable cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, networking, and scripting (Python/Bash).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer-facing communication abilities.
