Position Overview

As a Consulting Member Technical Staff in Nashville, TN, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects within Oracle's cloud ecosystem, collaborating with elite engineering teams to deliver robust solutions. You will play a key role in enhancing Oracle's product suite, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability for global customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design scalable software architectures for databases, applications, tools, and network components
  • Develop high-quality code using modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues in production environments
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define technical requirements and specifications
  • Optimize database performance and implement efficient data structures and algorithms
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
  • Integrate software components with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and related services
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Document technical designs, implementations, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java, C++, or Python programming languages
  • Proven experience designing and developing database systems or enterprise applications
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging software in distributed environments
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and agile methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development, microservices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of performance tuning for large-scale databases and applications
  • Prior consulting experience delivering solutions to enterprise customers
