Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle to join our team as Consulting Technical Manager. In this senior-level role, you will design, implement, maintain, and optimize mission-critical database systems supporting enterprise-scale applications. As the technical lead, you will ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of production database environments across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable Oracle and PostgreSQL database solutions for high-traffic enterprise applications.
• Implement and manage production database deployments, including clustering, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, tuning queries, indexes, and configurations for maximum efficiency.
• Lead database security implementations, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards.
• Perform proactive maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Oracle and PostgreSQL environments with minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in production systems, providing root cause analysis.
• Mentor junior DBAs and collaborate with development teams to ensure best practices in database usage.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA with Oracle (12c/19c/21c) and PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and advanced PostgreSQL features like logical replication.
• Proven track record managing mission-critical databases with 99.99%+ uptime and petabyte-scale data.
• Strong performance tuning skills using AWR reports, EXPLAIN plans, and database profiling tools.
• Experience with cloud databases (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL) and hybrid environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical teams in consulting engagements.
