Position Overview

Oracle is seeking a Critical Facilities Operations Technician to join our Data Center Facilities Engineering Team in NM, United States. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for the operation, upkeep, and optimization of vital building systems in a high-availability environment. Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in electrical systems, climate control, automation technologies, and safety protocols to ensure maximum reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate critical infrastructure including electrical power systems, HVAC, and cooling systems to maintain 99.999% uptime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Respond to alarms and incidents in real-time, executing standard operating procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of backup power systems, generators, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
  • Optimize energy efficiency through system adjustments, performance monitoring, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with facilities engineers and vendors to implement upgrades and expansions of critical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Support 24/7 on-call rotations and participate in emergency response drills.
  • Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation tools for proactive system management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in critical facilities operations, data centers, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage distribution, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Proficiency in HVAC systems, chillers, CRAC units, and precision cooling technologies.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), SCADA, or DCIM tools.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, including NFPA 70E, arc flash, and confined space entry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID diagrams.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at heights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as Certified Critical Environment Technician (CCET), EPA 608, or NICET Level II.
  • Experience with Oracle or hyperscale data center operations.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation for facilities monitoring (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and LEED-certified facility management.
  • Prior experience in a 24/7 operations center with shift work.
