Position Overview

Oracle is seeking a Critical Facility Technician - Electrical to join our Data Center Facilities Engineering Team in NM, United States. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems and related critical infrastructure. This role demands extensive experience in electrical systems, power distribution, automation technologies, and safety protocols to ensure maximum reliability, efficiency, and safety in our high-stakes data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain high-voltage electrical distribution systems, including UPS, generators, PDUs, and transformers in a 24/7 critical environment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, power quality issues, and automation control system malfunctions under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Monitor electrical systems using SCADA, BMS, and other monitoring tools to detect anomalies and optimize performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure to comply with safety and operational standards.
  • Implement energy efficiency initiatives and upgrades to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
  • Respond to critical incidents, coordinating with on-site teams and vendors for rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and compliance documentation using CMMS tools.
  • Collaborate with facilities engineers and operations teams to support infrastructure expansions and retrofits.
  • Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements such as NEC and OSHA.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within data centers, critical facilities, or industrial environments.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification (e.g., Master Electrician preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including 480V/3-phase power distribution, ATS, and backup power systems.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and using diagnostic tools like multimeters and power analyzers.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS), SCADA, and PLC-based automation for electrical controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in high-stress, 24/7 on-call environments with flexible shift rotations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain necessary security clearances for data center access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DC power systems, CRACs, and precision cooling integration in mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar hyperscale data center operations.
  • Certification in NFPA 70E electrical safety or equivalent arc flash training.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies, such as infrared thermography and vibration analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
