Overview

Oracle is seeking a Data Center Consulting Engineer - Mechanical to provide expert guidance on mechanical systems for our global data center infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and troubleshoot HVAC, cooling, and power distribution systems ensuring reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Design and review mechanical systems including CRAC units, chillers, and cooling towers for data centers.
  • Conduct site assessments and audits to evaluate mechanical infrastructure performance and compliance.
  • Develop energy efficiency models and recommend optimizations for cooling and airflow management.
  • Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and vendors on new data center builds and retrofits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system failures, minimizing downtime and operational risks.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports for mechanical engineering projects.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and local building codes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training on best practices in data center mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center mechanical design or facilities engineering.
  • Expertise in HVAC systems, CFD modeling, and thermal management for high-density environments.
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or SixSigmaDC.
  • Strong knowledge of data center critical infrastructure and redundancy principles (N+1, 2N).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
