Position Overview

As the Director – Finance Modernization Lead (Large Japanese Banks), you will serve as the primary relationship leader and trusted advisor for Oracle’s Finance Modernization engagements with major Japanese financial institutions. This strategic role demands deep expertise in accounting, finance, and Oracle applications to drive adoption and optimal utilization of our financial solutions. You will partner closely with senior client stakeholders to align Oracle’s capabilities with their business objectives, ensuring transformative outcomes in finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagements with large Japanese banks, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for finance modernization initiatives
  • Drive the adoption and optimization of Oracle Cloud ERP, EPM, and financial management solutions to meet client business needs
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders to identify pain points and develop tailored finance transformation roadmaps
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations, timelines, and Oracle best practices
  • Conduct workshops and demonstrations to showcase Oracle’s financial solutions and their impact on regulatory compliance and efficiency
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, fostering expansion opportunities within the Japanese banking sector
  • Provide expert guidance on Japanese accounting standards (J-GAAP), IFRS convergence, and financial reporting requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional Oracle teams, including sales, product, and consulting, to deliver comprehensive solutions
  • Monitor engagement metrics, report on progress, and recommend adjustments to maximize ROI for clients
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to position Oracle as the preferred partner

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in finance transformation, consulting, or financial systems implementation, with proven success in banking sector
  • Deep expertise in Oracle Cloud ERP, EPM, or Fusion Financials, including hands-on implementation experience
  • Strong understanding of Japanese financial regulations, J-GAAP, and banking industry standards
  • Proven track record of leading complex, high-stakes client engagements with C-level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluent in both Japanese and English
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strategic client relationships in a competitive market
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success in matrixed environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 consulting experience or equivalent in financial services advisory for Japanese banks
  • Certification in Oracle Financials Cloud or related Oracle credentials
  • Prior leadership role in finance modernization projects for Tier-1 financial institutions
  • Familiarity with AI-driven finance tools and emerging technologies in financial reporting
  • Existing network within large Japanese banks and regulatory bodies
