Position Overview

Oracle is seeking an experienced Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Construction Advisor to lead the implementation of a comprehensive safety program for our data center construction projects across the United States.

In this critical role, you will partner with construction teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations while promoting a culture of zero-harm safety.

You will play a pivotal role in mitigating risks, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement in construction safety practices to support Oracle's rapid expansion of cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs tailored to data center construction activities, ensuring alignment with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits on active construction sites to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate EHS requirements into construction plans, schedules, and daily operations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementations to prevent recurrence and enhance safety performance.
  • Deliver engaging EHS training sessions, orientations, and toolbox talks for construction workers, emphasizing high-risk activities like crane operations and electrical work.
  • Monitor and report EHS metrics, including injury rates, near-misses, and compliance status, to senior leadership and project teams.
  • Advise on sustainable construction practices, waste management, and environmental permitting to minimize ecological impact.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, behavioral observations, and recognition programs.
  • Stay abreast of evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills specific to construction environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, heavy industrial, or data center projects.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification (e.g., CIH, CHST).
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards, EPA regulations, and local safety codes.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs that reduce incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence diverse stakeholders, including contractors and executives.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically to construction sites and perform physical site walks in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or Master's in EHS-related discipline.
  • Experience with data center or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or LEED certification processes.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., Intelex, Cority).
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or similar specialized certification.
