Position Overview

As a Member of Technical Staff in Oracle's Software Engineering division, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug sophisticated software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks. This non-routine, highly complex role involves building highly distributed, scalable business use cases and evolving standard practices and procedures. Based in India, you will play a pivotal role in defining and developing software for advanced applications and operating systems, requiring a BS or MS degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years of software engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable software solutions for databases, applications, tools, and networked systems
• Develop high-quality software components for complex, distributed business use cases
• Troubleshoot and debug intricate software issues in production environments
• Define and evolve engineering standards, practices, and procedures within the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine technical requirements
• Build and optimize highly scalable systems handling large-scale data and traffic
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability
• Prototype and implement innovative features for enterprise-grade applications
• Analyze system performance and implement enhancements for reliability and efficiency
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, C++, or Python for developing complex applications
• Proven experience designing and building distributed, scalable systems
• Hands-on expertise in troubleshooting and debugging software at scale
• Solid understanding of databases, networking, and operating systems concepts
• Experience with software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills for non-routine, highly complex challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar cloud platforms
• Familiarity with database technologies like Oracle Database, NoSQL, or SQL
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
• Prior contributions to open-source projects or relevant GitHub repositories
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant technical discipline
