Overview

The OCI Security Engineer Intern position is part of Oracle's Veteran Internship Program (OVIP), designed for US Veterans transitioning from active service or active-duty Military Spouses new to corporate experience. Interns will gain hands-on experience in securing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. This role is based in Austin, TX, and offers mentorship to build a tech career.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing security controls for OCI environments.
• Monitor and analyze security logs using OCI tools like Logging and Security Zones.
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Collaborate with teams to remediate security findings and ensure compliance.
• Develop automation scripts for security tasks using Python or Terraform.
• Participate in incident response drills and threat hunting exercises.
• Document security processes and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Engage in code reviews for security best practices in cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Current or recent US Veteran or active-duty Military Spouse.
• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Basic understanding of cloud security principles and AWS/GCP/Azure familiarity a plus.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems and scripting languages preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and eagerness to learn OCI security services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
