Overview

As a Principal Advanced Support Engineer (Oracle DBA) in Singapore, you will deliver post-sales support and solutions to Oracle customers, acting as their advocate. Your role involves advanced troubleshooting of Oracle Database issues, proactive problem resolution, and collaboration with engineering teams. Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for Oracle Database Administration (DBA) issues in mission-critical environments.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database performance, recovery, and high-availability problems.
• Develop and document solutions, knowledge base articles, and best practices for customer and internal use.
• Collaborate with customers, support teams, and Oracle Development/Engineering on escalations and patches.
• Perform proactive database health checks, tuning, and optimization recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to support tools, automation, and process improvements.
• Engage in customer meetings, workshops, and proof-of-concept implementations for Oracle technologies.
• Stay current with Oracle Database releases, cloud services, and emerging DBA technologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, including versions 12c, 18c, 19c, and 21c.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Exadata, and Autonomous Database.
• Strong skills in SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, backup/recovery (RMAN), and shell scripting (Linux/Unix).
• Proven track record in customer-facing support, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Oracle certifications such as OCP, OCM, or equivalent advanced DBA credentials preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; ability to work in Singapore.
