Overview

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI team drives growth in OCI’s Generative AI and Agent services, enabling customers to solve business problems with Oracle's AI expertise. As Principal Applied Scientist, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers to deliver high-quality generative AI models and services. These solutions ensure customer delight while prioritizing data safety and protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of advanced generative AI models for OCI services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable AI solutions for customer needs.
• Conduct research to innovate and improve GenAI capabilities, including agents and LLMs.
• Optimize models for performance, efficiency, and security in cloud environments.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers on best practices in applied AI.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI technologies into Oracle's ecosystem.
• Drive experimentation and A/B testing to validate model effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy standards and ethical AI guidelines.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in applied machine learning, with focus on generative AI.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, transformers, and diffusion models.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and cloud ML frameworks.
• Proven track record of deploying AI models at scale in production.
• Strong communication skills and experience influencing technical strategy.
