As Principal Applied Scientist (IC4), you'll lead the design, build, and scaling of AI systems for clinical decision support, operations, and population health.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of LLM-based agents for clinical decision support and operational workflows.
• Design and implement scalable generative AI and NLP models for healthcare applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into production systems.
• Conduct advanced research on LLMs, fine-tuning, and agentic architectures.
• Drive innovation in population health analytics using multimodal AI.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers in AI best practices.
• Evaluate and benchmark state-of-the-art models for healthcare use cases.
• Publish findings and contribute to Oracle's AI thought leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field with 8+ years in applied ML.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, transformers, and generative AI techniques.
• Proven track record leading AI projects in healthcare or regulated industries.
• Strong Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and cloud ML experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with NLP tasks like entity recognition and clinical text processing.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
