Overview

Lead the architecture for cloud-scale DDoS protection at OCI’s edge. Own the data and control planes, traffic engineering, and drive operational excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-performance backend systems safeguarding Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable backend systems for DDoS mitigation at global edge locations.
• Own development and optimization of data and control planes for high-throughput traffic handling.
• Lead traffic engineering initiatives to route and scrub malicious traffic efficiently.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
• Mentor senior engineers and guide technical decisions across the DDoS protection platform.
• Collaborate with product, security, and network teams to define and deliver roadmaps.
• Implement resilient, fault-tolerant systems handling petabytes of attack traffic daily.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and post-mortem analysis for edge services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend development experience in distributed systems at cloud scale.
• Deep expertise in DDoS mitigation, traffic engineering, or network security.
• Proficiency in Go, C++, or Java for high-performance systems programming.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, GCP) and edge computing.
• Experience with data/control plane architectures and real-time telemetry.
• Proven track record leading principal-level engineering projects end-to-end.
