Principal Cloud Operation Engineer

Overview

Maintain availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle Cloud Services while solving complex infrastructure problems. Handle customer incident tickets, deploy software in test/production systems, perform testing, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) or escalate as needed. Play a critical role in managing Oracle standards for large-scale distributed systems, including capacity planning, performance analysis, and system tuning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle Cloud Services.
• Solve complex infrastructure problems across distributed systems.
• Handle customer incident tickets and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Deploy software releases in test and production environments.
• Execute testing on test and production systems.
• Escalate complex issues beyond expertise to development teams.
• Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting.
• Conduct software performance analysis and system tuning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud operations or SRE roles.
• Deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident management tools.
