Position Overview

As a Principal Consultant - Java Microservices with Core Banking, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced microservices architectures for Oracle's core banking solutions in India. Leveraging your deep expertise in Java and modern cloud-native technologies, you will guide clients through digital transformations, ensuring seamless integration with Oracle's Flexcube and other banking platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects, influencing strategic decisions and delivering measurable business value in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of Java-based microservices for core banking systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, and high availability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven services using Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar frameworks integrated with Oracle databases.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solution blueprints, and align with industry best practices for banking regulations.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding standards to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Integrate microservices with Oracle Flexcube, payment gateways, and compliance modules for end-to-end core banking functionality.
• Perform performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of microservices deployed on Kubernetes and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Drive proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives and pilots for new banking features, presenting outcomes to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments, implementing fixes and preventive measures.
• Contribute to thought leadership by authoring technical whitepapers and presenting at internal Oracle forums or client workshops.
• Ensure solutions adhere to security standards like OWASP, PCI-DSS, and RBI guidelines for Indian banking clients.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Java development, with at least 5 years focused on microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong hands-on experience with core banking domains, including Flexcube, loan origination, payments, and trade finance.
• Proficiency in relational databases (Oracle DB preferred), NoSQL, and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Demonstrated ability to lead consulting engagements, manage client expectations, and deliver projects on time.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Integration Cloud for banking solutions.
• Certifications such as Oracle Java SE, Spring Professional, or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer).
• Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD), CQRS, and event sourcing patterns in microservices.
• Prior exposure to Indian banking regulations (RBI, NPCI) and projects with top-tier banks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Oracle DevOps.
