Position Overview

At Oracle Analytics, we are building the next generation of enterprise AI products to enable intelligent data analysis at scale. As a Principal Research Engineer - Agentic AI, you will lead the research and development of autonomous AI agents that revolutionize enterprise decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of agentic AI systems capable of autonomous reasoning, planning, and execution in enterprise environments.
• Conduct cutting-edge research on multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, and generative AI models tailored for data analytics workloads.
• Prototype and iterate on AI agents that integrate seamlessly with Oracle's cloud infrastructure and analytics platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define research roadmaps and translate complex AI concepts into scalable solutions.
• Optimize AI models for performance, efficiency, and reliability at enterprise scale, focusing on low-latency inference and resource constraints.
• Publish research findings, contribute to patents, and represent Oracle at top AI conferences and industry events.
• Mentor junior engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies, such as large language models and optimization algorithms, into production systems.
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for agentic AI performance in real-world enterprise scenarios.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives to embed agentic AI into Oracle Analytics products, enhancing user experiences with intelligent automation.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with 8+ years in AI research and engineering.
• Deep expertise in agentic AI, including multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, and autonomous decision-making frameworks.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying production-scale AI models, preferably in cloud or enterprise environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or LangChain.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and optimization techniques for AI workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects from ideation to implementation and publication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to tackle ambiguous, open-ended challenges in AI research.
• Strong communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI models (e.g., LLMs like GPT or Llama) and their application in agentic workflows.
• Prior work on enterprise analytics platforms or integration with databases like Oracle Database or Big Data systems.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects or peer-reviewed publications in top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar cloud platforms for AI deployment.
• Background in optimization, operations research, or hybrid ML/OR approaches for enterprise applications.
