Overview

Oracle is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in Ireland, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure. You will lead efforts to proactively identify and resolve issues across production systems, driving automation and best practices in SRE. This role offers the chance to impact global services at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Responsibilities

• Lead on-call rotations and incident response for high-availability production systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Develop automation tools and infrastructure-as-code to streamline operations.
• Optimize system performance, capacity planning, and cost efficiency in OCI environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service reliability and SLO/SLA adherence.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses and drive systemic improvements from incidents.
• Mentor junior SREs and advocate for SRE principles across the organization.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and chaos engineering experiments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering roles.
• Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Proficiency in programming (Python, Go, or Java) and scripting (Bash, Terraform).
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with incident management.
