Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a Principal Software Developer to join our Networking organization, focusing on DDoS and Network Security. In this strategic role, you will architect, build, and enhance solutions to safeguard the reliability and availability of OCI’s global cloud services. The ideal candidate excels at cross-team collaboration, driving technical direction, and delivering large-scale, robust software systems in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable DDoS mitigation and network security systems for OCI's global infrastructure.
• Lead development of high-performance software to detect and mitigate network threats in real-time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement security strategies and features.
• Optimize networking protocols and algorithms to enhance cloud service availability and resilience.
• Drive technical innovation in areas like traffic scrubbing, anomaly detection, and rate limiting.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues related to network security and performance.
• Contribute to open-source projects and represent OCI in industry forums on network security.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software development with focus on networking or security systems.
• Deep expertise in DDoS mitigation techniques, network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP/2), and cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in C++, Go, or Rust for high-performance, low-latency systems development.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, Linux kernel networking, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, OCI).
• Proven track record of leading large-scale projects and influencing technical direction.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
