Position Overview

As a Principal Software Developer specializing in Oracle APEX, you will lead the development of sophisticated web-based database applications built on IoT-related platforms. This hybrid role in Redwood Shores offers the flexibility to collaborate in-person and remotely while driving cutting-edge solutions for Oracle's IoT ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in designing scalable, low-code applications that enable real-time data processing and analytics for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance web-based database applications using Oracle APEX on IoT data platforms
• Lead the architecture of APEX applications integrating IoT streams, ensuring scalability and real-time responsiveness
• Collaborate with IoT product teams to define application requirements and translate them into robust APEX solutions
• Optimize APEX applications for performance, incorporating advanced plugins, themes, and RESTful services
• Mentor junior developers on APEX best practices, low-code development, and IoT integration patterns
• Implement security features and data governance in APEX apps handling sensitive IoT telemetry data
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and deployment of APEX applications to production environments
• Integrate APEX with Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, and IoT Cloud services for seamless data flow
• Prototype innovative IoT use cases using APEX dynamic actions and JavaScript extensions
• Monitor application performance post-deployment and proactively resolve issues in live IoT environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred
• 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on Oracle APEX
• Proven expertise in building web applications using Oracle APEX 20+ versions
• Strong experience with Oracle Database (including PL/SQL, SQL tuning, and APEX data models)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate APEX with REST APIs, IoT Cloud, and external data sources
• Experience leading development projects from concept to production deployment
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery for APEX customizations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hybrid team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle APEX certification or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure expertise
• Hands-on experience with Oracle IoT Cloud Service and real-time data streaming
• Familiarity with Oracle Autonomous Database and machine learning integrations in APEX
• Prior leadership in agile teams using Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing mobile-responsive APEX apps for IoT dashboards
