Overview

Oracle is seeking a Principal Software Developer to join our Austin, TX team, driving innovation in cloud infrastructure and enterprise applications. All applicants must be physically in the Austin, TX market or willing to relocate and commit to working from the office 5 days per week. In this role, you will lead complex development projects, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable solutions for global customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software components using Java, C++, or Python.
• Lead architecture decisions for large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and DevOps.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across the full software lifecycle.
• Contribute to open-source projects or internal tools to advance Oracle's technology stack.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
• Proven track record of delivering mission-critical applications at scale.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
