Position Overview

As a Senior Applied Scientist in Oracle Health and AI, you will lead the development of advanced AI models to solve complex healthcare challenges, driving innovation in predictive analytics and personalized medicine. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that integrate machine learning with real-world health data, collaborating with top engineers, data scientists, and domain experts. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models for healthcare applications, including predictive diagnostics and treatment optimization
  • Lead end-to-end AI research projects, from data exploration and feature engineering to model evaluation and production deployment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, product managers, and engineers, to define AI requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Conduct experiments to improve model performance, utilizing techniques like deep learning, natural language processing, and time-series forecasting
  • Analyze large-scale healthcare datasets to uncover actionable insights and validate model efficacy in real-world scenarios
  • Mentor junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and healthcare, incorporating emerging technologies into Oracle's product roadmap
  • Develop scalable AI pipelines using cloud infrastructure, ensuring models are robust, ethical, and compliant with healthcare regulations
  • Present research findings and technical recommendations to stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions at Oracle Health
  • Contribute to open-source projects and publish papers to elevate Oracle's thought leadership in health AI

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning or AI research, with a focus on healthcare or life sciences applications
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying ML models in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar deep learning frameworks
  • Experience with large-scale data processing tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-based services like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and generative models
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle ambiguous, complex datasets
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Publication record in top-tier AI/healthcare conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CHIL)
  • Familiarity with federated learning, privacy-preserving ML, or ethical AI practices in regulated industries
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure for AI workloads
  • Prior leadership in AI projects or mentoring roles in a fast-paced tech environment
