Overview

As a Senior Applied Scientist on the OCI Generative AI Science team, you will collaborate with experienced scientists and engineers to research, develop, and enhance speech and conversational AI models. This role offers a prime opportunity to advance your expertise in speech and AI technologies while learning industry best practices. You will contribute directly to production-grade AI services powering Oracle’s global customer base.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop advanced speech recognition and synthesis models for generative AI applications.
• Design and implement conversational AI systems optimized for real-world scalability and performance.
• Conduct experiments to improve model accuracy, latency, and robustness in diverse linguistic environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy AI models into production OCI services.
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets to drive model improvements and innovations.
• Publish findings and contribute to patents advancing Oracle's AI portfolio.
• Mentor junior scientists and foster knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art techniques in multimodal AI and speech processing.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with speech AI, NLP, or generative models.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and large-scale ML frameworks.
• Strong publication record in top AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICASSP, Interspeech).
• Experience with production ML systems and cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
