Overview

Oracle OCI is aggressively expanding datacenter capacity globally to support its world-class cloud services. We are seeking a Senior Data Center Design Mechanical Engineer with extensive datacenter experience to join our growing Datacenter Design team. This team sets design standards for partners and serves as the center of excellence for compute, network, and storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mechanical design standards for OCI datacenters, focusing on HVAC, cooling systems, and plumbing.
• Collaborate with colocation providers and developers to ensure compliance with OCI design requirements.
• Perform detailed design reviews and provide technical guidance on mechanical systems for new and existing facilities.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for datacenter expansions in key global markets.
• Optimize mechanical designs for energy efficiency, reliability, and scalability to support OCI's growth.
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover of mechanical systems in datacenter projects.
• Analyze and mitigate risks associated with mechanical infrastructure in high-density computing environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of datacenter design processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in datacenter mechanical design and engineering.
• Deep expertise in cooling technologies, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and liquid cooling systems.
• Proven track record working with hyperscale datacenter projects and colocation providers.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Uptime Institute guidelines, and energy efficiency metrics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams and stakeholders.
