Overview

Oracle’s elite Government, Defense & Intelligence Professional Consulting Group seeks a Senior Database Engineer for its Reston, VA office. This role involves advanced database engineering and administration for mission-critical systems. Clearance is required to support high-stakes government and defense projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Oracle database architectures for high availability and performance.
• Perform database administration tasks including backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation using PL/SQL, shell scripting, or Python.
• Ensure database security compliance with government standards like STIGs and RMF.
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and data migrations.
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for disaster recovery and replication.
• Document configurations, procedures, and provide knowledge transfer to team members.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph preferred.
• 8+ years of experience as a Database Engineer/DBA with Oracle 12c/19c.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and advanced performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and scripting.
• Experience with government compliance frameworks (e.g., DISA STIGs, NIST).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Oracle OCP certification required.
