Overview

Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. As a Senior Database Site Reliability Engineer in Bengaluru, you will ensure mission-critical database systems run reliably at scale. Collaborate with engineering teams to proactively resolve issues and optimize performance across global Oracle infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation tools for database monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Design scalable architectures for high-availability Oracle database clusters.
• Perform root cause analysis on production outages and implement preventive measures.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and configuration adjustments.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for database schema deployments and migrations.
• Collaborate with product teams to enhance service reliability and reduce toil.
• Manage on-call rotations and lead incident post-mortems for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to open-source SRE tools and share knowledge through tech talks and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or database administration roles.
• Expertise in Oracle Database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java for automation.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure (OCI/AWS).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and observability platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, on-call environments.
