Position Overview

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff in India, you will play a pivotal role in building the most secure cloud environment at Oracle. You will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software across databases, applications, tools, and networks, leveraging your expertise in Java, microservices, and distributed systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure software solutions for Oracle's cloud infrastructure, focusing on databases, applications, and networks.
• Develop high-performance microservices using Java and related frameworks to support distributed systems at massive scale.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across multi-tiered environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and implement innovative features for cloud services.
• Optimize system performance and scalability for large-scale distributed solutions handling petabyte-scale data.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following Oracle's engineering best practices and security standards.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence within the team.
• Integrate security best practices into software development lifecycle to build the most secure cloud environment.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve production incidents and improve system observability.
• Prototype and evaluate new technologies to enhance Oracle's cloud offerings in tools and networking.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with hands-on expertise in Java.
• Strong experience building and deploying microservices in a cloud-native environment.
• Proven track record working with distributed systems, including concepts like consensus protocols, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex software issues across databases, applications, and networks.
• Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of database technologies, including Oracle Database, NoSQL systems, or distributed databases.
• Prior experience in security-focused development for cloud environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in distributed systems.
