Position Overview

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff - Java at Oracle Health, you will play a pivotal role in developing robust, scalable Java-based applications that connect healthcare data and enable point-of-care access from anywhere, on any device. Leveraging global data, you will contribute to innovative solutions that empower practitioners with real-time medical information. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications for healthcare data integration and real-time analytics.
  • Architect scalable microservices and APIs to enable seamless connectivity across healthcare systems and devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and data scientists, to define technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Implement secure, compliant data processing pipelines leveraging global healthcare datasets for practitioner decision support.
  • Optimize Java codebases for performance, reliability, and scalability in cloud-native environments.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in software development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments to ensure 24/7 system availability.
  • Integrate machine learning models and AI services into Java applications to advance population health insights.
  • Contribute to agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Stay abreast of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FHIR) and incorporate compliance into all development efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Java software development, with proven expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
  • Strong proficiency in building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle DB, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare IT, FHIR standards, or HL7 protocols.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Oracle AI services) integrated with Java.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or publications in software engineering.
  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Java SE, OCI) or equivalent.
