Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Compute Control Plane manages global compute resources across data centers. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of scalable compute services. This onsite role in Nashville, TN offers the chance to impact millions of users with cutting-edge cloud technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect high-availability control plane services for global compute infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Go, or similar languages.
• Optimize system performance and scalability for petabyte-scale workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems.
• Lead code reviews, mentoring junior engineers on best practices.
• Contribute to open-source projects and internal tools for compute management.
• Monitor and improve service reliability using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience; 8+ years in software engineering.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work onsite in Nashville, TN.
