Position Overview

AI2 Networking Organization at Oracle is seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to implement, deploy, and automate our RDMA fabrics supporting the rapidly growing GPU business. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex networking challenges in a high-scale AI environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) and InfiniBand. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy scalable RDMA fabrics using RoCE and InfiniBand to support GPU clusters for AI training and inference.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline network provisioning and configuration management.
• Optimize network performance, latency, and throughput through advanced tuning, congestion control, and telemetry integration.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate high-speed NICs, switches, and GPUs into cohesive network architectures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in production environments using tools like tcpdump, Wireshark, and custom diagnostics.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network software deployments, ensuring reliability and rapid iteration.
• Conduct performance benchmarking and modeling to validate RDMA fabric scalability for multi-tenant GPU environments.
• Document network designs, automation workflows, and operational procedures for team knowledge sharing.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including AI/ML engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define networking requirements.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in AI networking, contributing to patents and open-source projects where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering with focus on data center fabrics, RDMA, RoCE, or InfiniBand.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or Go for network automation and tooling development.
• Hands-on experience with Linux networking stack, including kernel tuning, eBPF, and DPDK.
• Proven track record of deploying and operating high-scale networks in production environments.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS) and congestion control mechanisms.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, or AI/ML workloads in distributed training environments.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (OCI, AWS, Azure) and SDN controllers like OpenDaylight or SONiC.
• Contributions to open-source networking projects or RDMA-related software stacks.
• Knowledge of security best practices for network fabrics, including encryption and zero-trust models.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and service mesh technologies for networked AI apps.
