Position Overview

The Senior Program Manager – Data Center Schedule Project Controls will lead the establishment and execution of a robust Project Control function for Oracle's data center initiatives in Nashville, TN or Austin, TX. This role is pivotal in overseeing schedule management, cost control, risk mitigation, and performance tracking across complex data center projects. Reporting to the Director of Data Center Operations, you will drive program excellence, ensure on-time delivery, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to influence Oracle's global data center expansion strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the Project Control function, developing standardized processes for schedule management, cost tracking, risk assessment, and performance metrics across data center projects.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize resource allocation.
  • Conduct risk analysis and create mitigation strategies, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to proactively address potential issues.
  • Generate executive-level reports and dashboards on project health, including KPIs for cost, schedule, quality, and safety performance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional stakeholder meetings to align on project goals, resolve conflicts, and drive accountability for deliverables.
  • Lead cost control efforts, including budget forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and variance analysis to ensure projects stay within financial targets.
  • Mentor and develop a team of project controllers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices in program management.
  • Integrate project data with Oracle's enterprise systems for real-time visibility and decision-making support.
  • Support change management processes, evaluating impacts on schedule and cost while ensuring compliance with Oracle's governance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification required.
  • 10+ years of experience in project controls, schedule management, or program management within data center, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in critical path method (CPM) scheduling, earned value management (EVM), and risk management methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency with project management software such as Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting for executive audiences.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically to data center sites in Nashville, TN or Austin, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience managing hyperscale data center projects or large-scale infrastructure programs exceeding $100M in value.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or enterprise cloud environments.
  • Advanced certifications such as PgMP, PRINCE2, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards (e.g., AACE, PMI) and data center-specific regulations.
