Position Overview

At Oracle Analytics, we are building the next generation of enterprise AI products to enable intelligent data analysis at scale. Leveraging our foundational strengths in data management and enterprise software applications, we are advancing our platforms and applications by deeply embedding cutting-edge agentic AI, generative AI, and innovations in machine learning and optimization. As a Senior Research Engineer - Agentic AI, you will lead the design and implementation of autonomous AI agents that drive proactive insights and decision-making in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced agentic AI systems capable of autonomous reasoning, planning, and execution in complex enterprise data environments.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art generative AI models, including large language models (LLMs), for natural language understanding and generation in analytics workflows.
• Lead the integration of machine learning and optimization techniques to enable scalable, real-time AI-driven decision support systems.
• Prototype and evaluate novel AI architectures for multi-agent collaboration, tool usage, and long-term memory in enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define research roadmaps aligned with Oracle's analytics platform goals.
• Conduct experiments to benchmark and improve agent performance metrics such as task completion rate, reasoning accuracy, and efficiency.
• Author technical reports, research papers, and patents to advance Oracle's thought leadership in agentic AI.
• Mentor junior engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Optimize AI models for deployment on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring low-latency inference and high scalability.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in AI research, evaluating their applicability to enterprise analytics challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML research and development, with a focus on agentic systems or reinforcement learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying LLMs or generative AI models in production environments.
• Proven track record of research contributions, including publications at top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) or equivalent industry impact.
• Expertise in optimization algorithms, probabilistic modeling, or multi-agent systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, for scalable AI workloads.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex research into practical enterprise solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD with thesis or publications specifically on agentic AI, autonomous agents, or AI planning.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, SQL/NoSQL databases, or big data technologies like Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with Oracle Analytics Cloud or similar enterprise analytics tools.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects or libraries related to agents or LLMs.
• Background in enterprise software development, including microservices and API design.
