Overview

Seeking a dynamic Senior Site Reliability Developer to join our growing database cloud development group at Oracle. Work out of the Pleasanton, California office with rotation work including one weekend per month. Drive reliability, scalability, and performance for cloud database services in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring systems for cloud database infrastructure.
• Develop automation tools for deployment, scaling, and incident response.
• Perform on-call rotations, including one weekend per month, to ensure 24/7 system reliability.
• Analyze system performance metrics and optimize for high availability.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and reduce toil.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems.
• Contribute to capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers on SRE best practices and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java for scripting and tooling.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and database technologies (Oracle DB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proven track record in monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and observability practices.
