Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Networking organization, specializing in DDoS and Network Security. In this role, you will design, build, and improve solutions to enhance the security and reliability of OCI’s global cloud services. The ideal candidate has experience developing robust, distributed software systems and a passion for cloud networking and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software solutions for DDoS mitigation and network security in OCI.
• Build high-performance, distributed systems to protect cloud services from cyber threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement security features.
• Optimize networking protocols and algorithms for low-latency threat detection.
• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of production networking systems.
• Integrate security telemetry with monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
• Contribute to open-source projects and internal tools for network security.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development experience in distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Go, or Rust for high-performance networking.
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP/3).
• Experience with DDoS mitigation techniques and security appliances.
• Proven track record working on cloud-scale infrastructure.
