Position Overview

As a Senior Software Developer - APEX Developer, you will build sophisticated IoT-related applications using Oracle APEX and the Oracle IoT Platform in a hybrid work environment in Redwood Shores. This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and deploy scalable low-code solutions that integrate real-time IoT data streams with enterprise systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact applications that drive business value for Oracle's customers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom APEX applications leveraging the Oracle IoT Platform to process and visualize real-time IoT data streams
• Build responsive, scalable user interfaces using Oracle APEX for IoT device management and analytics dashboards
• Integrate APEX applications with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including IoT Cloud Service and Autonomous Database
• Collaborate with IoT architects and data engineers to define application requirements and ensure seamless data flow
• Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption for IoT-enabled APEX apps
• Optimize APEX application performance for high-volume IoT data ingestion and real-time processing
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and deployment of APEX applications using CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production IoT applications, ensuring 99.9% uptime
• Mentor junior developers on APEX best practices and IoT integration patterns
• Stay current with Oracle APEX updates and contribute to proof-of-concept projects for emerging IoT technologies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Oracle APEX
• Proven experience building applications using Oracle IoT Platform or similar IoT cloud services
• Strong proficiency in PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS for APEX development
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and database technologies like Oracle Database
• Demonstrated ability to integrate RESTful APIs and WebSockets for real-time IoT data handling
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a hybrid environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle APEX certification or Oracle Cloud certification (e.g., OCI Foundations Associate)
• Experience with Oracle Digital Assistant or Oracle Integration Cloud for IoT workflows
• Familiarity with machine learning integration in APEX for IoT predictive analytics
• Previous work on high-scale IoT projects handling millions of device messages daily
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps tools for APEX deployments
