Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (C system level Programmer) with 3-6 years of experience to rapidly build, scale, and operate software services in a distributed Cloud environment for the OCI File Storage Service. Based in India, this role involves developing high-performance, low-level system software to ensure reliable file storage solutions at scale. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize low-level C system software for OCI File Storage Service in distributed cloud environments.
• Build scalable, high-performance services handling petabyte-scale data with low latency requirements.
• Implement and maintain core storage protocols, file systems, and distributed consensus algorithms.
• Debug and resolve complex performance bottlenecks at the kernel and system level.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage services with OCI platform components.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and operations of storage services using CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to reliability engineering through fault-tolerant designs and chaos testing.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in C systems programming, preferably in storage or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Linux kernel internals, file systems (e.g., XFS, ext4), and networking stacks.
• Proficiency in multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with distributed systems concepts like CAP theorem, Paxos/Raft, and eventual consistency.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and orchestration tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, on-call environments.
