Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a technically advanced and hands-on Senior Software Engineer (IC4) to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of critical networking solutions for the world’s most demanding data center environments. Based in Seattle, WA, you will focus on OCI Networking – Data Center Transports, tackling high-scale challenges in cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance data center transport protocols for OCI's global network fabric.
• Optimize networking stack for ultra-low latency and maximum throughput in multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ based software for RDMA, RoCE, and custom transport layers.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate next-gen NICs and SmartNICs into OCI infrastructure.
• Drive end-to-end performance analysis, profiling, and tuning of network subsystems.
• Build scalable monitoring, telemetry, and observability tools for data center transports.
• Lead debugging and resolution of complex production issues in high-scale environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps for OCI Networking.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems-level software development, preferably in networking or kernel.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ with deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/UDP, RDMA).
• Proven track record of optimizing performance in high-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with data center networking hardware (NICs, switches, ASICs).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
