Position Overview

As a Senior Technical Operations Engineer in Romania, you will dive deep into the latest cloud technologies within Oracle's high-performing operations team. This role offers the opportunity to manage large-scale cloud environments, optimize performance, and drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments to ensure 99.99% uptime and optimal performance for mission-critical systems.
• Implement automated deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins for scalable operations.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues in multi-tenant cloud platforms, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational costs in production environments.
• Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, and Oracle Cloud Observability to proactively identify and resolve incidents.
• Lead incident response efforts, coordinating on-call rotations and post-mortem reviews to enhance system reliability.
• Automate routine operational tasks with scripting languages such as Python or Bash to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for OCI services, including compute, storage, and networking components.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices for cloud operations, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and participate in audits for cloud infrastructure deployments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical operations, SRE, or DevOps roles within cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VPCs, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging systems (e.g., ELK Stack).
• EU residency with legal right to work in Romania.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., OCI Foundations, Architect Associate).
• Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Familiarity with Oracle database technologies (e.g., Oracle Database, Exadata).
• Previous work in high-availability, large-scale production environments.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence.
