Position Overview

As a Site Reliability Developer 3 in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team, you will solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. This role focuses on enhancing system reliability, performance, and scalability for Oracle's global cloud platforms. You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement proactive monitoring, automation, and resilient architectures in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline infrastructure deployments and reduce manual interventions
• Analyze production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
• Design and optimize monitoring systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Oracle's observability stack
• Build scalable CI/CD pipelines to accelerate service reliability and deployment velocity
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets
• Implement fault-tolerant architectures and chaos engineering practices for cloud services
• Automate capacity planning and resource provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems spanning multiple cloud regions
• Contribute to on-call rotations, providing 24/7 support for critical production environments
• Document reliability best practices and mentor junior team members on SRE principles

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java for automation development
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and distributed systems troubleshooting
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Splunk)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform) and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure, on-call environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and tools
• Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., OCI Architect, AWS DevOps, CKAD)
• Knowledge of chaos engineering tools like Chaos Monkey or Gremlin
• Prior experience in large-scale distributed systems at hyperscale companies
• Contributions to open-source SRE or DevOps projects
