Position Overview

Ready to make an impact on next-generation cloud infrastructure? We're looking for a talented Software Developer 3 to help design and build robust, highly scalable Control Plane services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). In this role, you will contribute to the core systems that manage orchestration, provisioning, and scaling of cloud resources for millions of users worldwide. Collaborate with top engineers in a fast-paced environment to deliver reliable, high-performance services that drive Oracle's cloud dominance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable microservices for OCI Control Plane, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance
  • Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven systems using Java, Go, or Python to handle massive workloads
  • Optimize system performance and reliability through advanced distributed systems techniques like sharding and replication
  • Collaborate with product managers and architects to define requirements and deliver iterative improvements
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain code quality and prevent regressions
  • Participate in on-call rotations to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in real-time
  • Contribute to code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and fostering best practices across the team
  • Integrate security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption in all services
  • Profile and tune applications for low-latency performance in multi-tenant cloud environments
  • Document designs, APIs, and operational procedures to enable seamless team knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Go, Python, or C++
  • Experience building and deploying distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or OCI preferred)
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging systems
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex, multi-component systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or similar large-scale public cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with Control Plane services, service meshes (e.g., Istio), or infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • Knowledge of database systems, including relational (Oracle DB) and NoSQL technologies
  • Prior contributions to open-source projects or experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Understanding of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack for monitoring
