Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Networking organization, specializing in DDoS and Network Security. In this role, you will design, build, and improve solutions to enhance the security and reliability of OCI’s global cloud services. The ideal candidate has experience in robust, distributed software systems and a passion for cloud networking and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable DDoS mitigation systems for OCI's global network infrastructure.
• Build high-performance network security features to protect cloud services from advanced threats.
• Implement distributed algorithms for real-time threat detection and automated response.
• Optimize networking stack performance under extreme DDoS attack conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into core OCI networking services.
• Conduct performance testing and tuning of security systems at massive scale.
• Develop monitoring and observability tools for network security telemetry.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps for networking security.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience (8+ years in software development).
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and cloud networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, QUIC).
• Experience with DDoS mitigation technologies and network security principles.
• Proficiency in C++, Go, or Rust for high-performance systems programming.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems handling millions of requests per second.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with large-scale production systems.
