Position Overview

Ready to make an impact on next-generation cloud infrastructure? We're looking for a talented Software Developer 3 to help design and build robust, highly scalable Control Plane services in our Seattle team. In this role, you will contribute to the core services that manage Oracle's cloud resources, ensuring high availability, security, and performance at massive scale. Collaborate with elite engineers to innovate on distributed systems and shape the future of cloud computing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable Control Plane services using microservices architecture for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Develop high-performance APIs and backend services to manage cloud resource provisioning and orchestration.
  • Optimize system performance and reliability through advanced techniques like caching, load balancing, and fault tolerance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, SREs, and security experts to define and deliver features.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests using modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a high-scale, distributed environment.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions to uphold best practices.
  • Monitor and improve service metrics using tools like Prometheus and Grafana for observability.
  • Contribute to open-source projects or internal tools that enhance developer productivity.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and propose innovations to evolve our cloud platform.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with backend services.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Python for building scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large-scale systems with high availability and low latency requirements.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL solutions like Cassandra.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience developing Control Plane or management services for public cloud providers.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services and tools.
  • Knowledge of security best practices including OAuth, JWT, and zero-trust architectures.
  • Contributions to open-source projects in cloud-native technologies.
