Overview

Senior Software Engineer role in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Media Services, based in Czech Republic. Develop and optimize scalable media processing services for cloud-native video streaming and transcoding solutions. Collaborate with global teams to deliver high-performance, reliable media platforms serving millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices for media ingestion, encoding, and delivery using Java and OCI frameworks.
• Optimize media workflows for low-latency streaming and adaptive bitrate transcoding.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and gRPC services for media service integrations.
• Implement fault-tolerant systems with Kubernetes, Docker, and OCI orchestration.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions for scalable media processing pipelines.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests ensuring 99.99% service reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Java, Go, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and containerization (Kubernetes/Docker).
• Experience with media processing technologies (FFmpeg, HLS/DASH protocols).
• Proficiency in distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
• Familiarity with OCI, AWS, or Azure cloud platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and English communication abilities.
