Oracle is seeking a Software Developer 5 (OS Kernel) to join our team in Burlington, MA or Santa Clara, CA. This role involves deep Linux OS expertise to develop and optimize Oracle Compute servers across Intel, AMD, and ARM processors. Contribute to high-performance, scalable kernel-level solutions powering Oracle's cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Linux kernel modules for Oracle Compute servers.
• Optimize OS performance on Intel, AMD, and ARM architectures.
• Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues in production environments.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate new processor support.
• Develop drivers and firmware interfaces for cloud computing workloads.
• Conduct performance profiling and tuning of kernel subsystems.
• Contribute to upstream Linux kernel patches and Oracle enhancements.
• Mentor junior developers on OS kernel best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Linux kernel development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Linux OS internals and subsystems.
• Proficiency in C, kernel debugging tools (kgdb, ftrace, perf).
• Hands-on experience with Intel, AMD, and ARM processors.
• Strong understanding of virtualization (KVM, Xen) and containers.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.
