Position Overview

As a Software Developer 5 in Oracle's Seattle office, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug sophisticated software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks. This senior-level role involves leading complex development projects and collaborating with elite engineering teams to deliver mission-critical solutions. You will contribute to Oracle's cloud platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for global customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable software solutions for Oracle's database and cloud application platforms
• Develop high-performance code using Java, C++, or Python for enterprise-grade systems
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in distributed systems, networks, and tools
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain code quality standards
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements
• Optimize software for performance, reliability, and security in multi-tenant cloud environments
• Implement automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
• Integrate systems with Oracle's ecosystem, including databases like Oracle Database and Exadata
• Analyze system performance metrics and proactively resolve bottlenecks
• Contribute to open-source projects or internal tools that enhance developer productivity

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments
• Expertise in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
• Strong experience with database systems, including SQL and NoSQL technologies
• Proven track record of designing and building scalable distributed systems
• Proficiency in software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies
• Experience with debugging tools, profilers, and performance optimization techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar cloud platforms
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
