Overview
Oracle is seeking an engineering leader to build teams delivering a high-performance key-value store supporting billions of keys and millions of requests per second at sub-millisecond latencies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a new Tier 0 service from scratch at OCI, collaborating with senior architects and leaders. As Software Development Director, apply deep software architecture expertise to manage development, debugging, and design of applications, operating systems, and databases.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams to deliver scalable key-value store services.
- Define software architecture and design specifications for new Tier 0 services.
- Manage development tasks including coding, debugging, and optimization for sub-millisecond latencies.
- Collaborate with senior architects and OCI leaders on strategic roadmap and innovations.
- Build enhancements within existing architectures and envision future improvements.
- Oversee design and implementation of databases, operating systems, and applications.
- Drive performance tuning to handle billions of keys and millions of requests per second.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with proven leadership at director level.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, key-value stores, and high-throughput databases.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization.
- Experience building scalable services handling massive scale and low-latency requirements.
- Track record of delivering Tier 0 services in cloud environments like OCI or similar.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional leaders.
