The OCI Data Service Team at Oracle is hiring a Software Development Engineer-2 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain site reliability engineering practices for OCI Data Services.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize for scalability and efficiency.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Go, or similar languages for operational tasks.
• Manage on-call rotations, incident response, and post-mortem analysis to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Implement observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging systems.
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization in cloud environments.
• Contribute to open-source projects and internal tools for reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Hands-on expertise in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and SRE principles (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative teams.
