Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Senior Manager to lead the OCI DNS and Health Checks service team as we scale to support explosive business growth and deliver high-impact customer features. In this role, you will manage a high-performing engineering team, drive technical strategy, and ensure service reliability at massive scale. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers developing and maintaining the OCI DNS and Health Checks services
• Define and execute the technical roadmap to scale services supporting OCI's global business expansion
• Collaborate with product managers to prioritize and deliver customer-requested features on time
• Drive service reliability, performance optimization, and fault tolerance for high-availability DNS and health monitoring
• Mentor and coach team members to foster technical excellence and career growth
• Partner with cross-functional teams including SRE, security, and networking to resolve complex production issues
• Conduct code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design reviews for major initiatives
• Monitor service metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive improvements
• Represent the team in executive reviews and contribute to OCI-wide networking strategy
• Hire top talent and build a diverse, inclusive engineering team

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in management roles leading engineering teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven track record managing distributed systems or cloud services at scale
• Strong understanding of DNS protocols, health checks, networking, and load balancing concepts
• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., OCI, AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through ambiguity and deliver results in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executives and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing DNS services or health monitoring systems in a cloud environment
• Deep knowledge of OCI or similar public cloud networking services
• Background in SRE practices, including observability, chaos engineering, and on-call management
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in distributed systems
