Position Overview

As a Software Development Senior Manager in India, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and related technologies. This role offers the opportunity to drive technical excellence, mentor talent, and deliver impactful solutions that support Oracle's cloud ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining software for databases, applications, tools, and networks
• Define technical vision and roadmap for team projects, aligning with Oracle's strategic business objectives
• Oversee troubleshooting and debugging of complex software issues to ensure high availability and performance
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth and a culture of innovation
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and implement scalable architecture patterns
• Drive agile processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor team performance metrics, resource allocation, and project timelines to meet delivery goals
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with security and quality standards
• Represent the team in stakeholder meetings and contribute to Oracle's global development efforts

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role
• Proven track record of managing engineering teams delivering database, application, or network software
• Strong expertise in software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems in production environments
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for global team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), databases like Oracle Database, or related technologies
• Advanced knowledge of cloud-native development, microservices, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Prior experience in agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, or Git
• MBA or relevant management certification
• Hands-on experience with performance optimization and scalability in high-traffic systems
