Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled Sr Principal Software Developer to lead a team in building and maintaining a critical software platform end-to-end. This role requires deep expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and development through delivery and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a proven ability to drive projects to completion, and experience delivering high-impact solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable systems that support Oracle's cloud-native initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of mission-critical software platforms using modern cloud technologies.
• Mentor and guide a team of senior developers, fostering best practices in agile methodologies and code quality.
• Architect scalable, high-performance systems leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related services.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and roadmaps.
• Implement and optimize microservices architectures, ensuring robustness, security, and observability.
• Drive code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline improvements to accelerate delivery cycles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, minimizing downtime and enhancing system reliability.
• Innovate by exploring emerging technologies like AI/ML integration and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-team initiatives to elevate platform standards.
• Measure and report on key metrics such as system performance, uptime, and development velocity.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years in senior/lead roles.
• Proven expertise in Java, Python, or Go, with strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS/Azure equivalents.
• Demonstrated leadership in full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and maintenance.
• Strong proficiency in agile practices, DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex, large-scale technical challenges.
• Outstanding communication skills with experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing for Oracle database technologies or enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Deep knowledge of OCI services such as Compute, Storage, Networking, and Functions.
• Background in performance tuning, security best practices, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in software engineering.
• Certification in Oracle Cloud or relevant cloud architect credentials.
